Preparing to Drop #1

GeneralJason L Blair03 May 2013

Welcome to the first of the Five-Story Drop updates. Work has been settling down some so I managed to plug away at Five-Story Drop this week. I didn’t manage my one hour every day goal but will be sticking to that as closely as I can from hereon out. This week, I focused on finishing up “Eli Mendoza is a Dead Man” which isn’t complete but is in much better shape. I also inserted everything I did have done into layout so I can see at a glance where things are at. I revised some of the intro section as well to make the book more useful for players and GMs.

This weekend, I aim to finish up “Eli Mendoza” and focus on getting “The Burial Plot” further along and adding more meat to “Life in the Fast Lane.” This time next week, my goal is to have 2 of the 5 scenarios completed.

I won’t lie – there’s something REAL about having a book in your hands, and having a PDF doesn’t feel the same. I am really looking forward to having the book in my hands.

But I also understand that life happens, and money happens, and plans change. THANK YOU for keeping us updated on progress. It reinforces the sense that I’m supporting a real person who’s working on something that’s as much art as it is commerce, and it banishes the uneasy feeling that my money was squandered.

That said, I am impatient. Any chance that backers who would be entitled to Five-Story Drop when it ships could see previews as each story reaches mostly-finished stage?

I’ve thought about updating the Five-Story Drop PDF on DriveThruRPG as I finish each story and make an unpublished link available to backers. I’ll see if I can come up with a more elegant solution to that.

Thank you for the support and understanding. I realize how frustrating this must be and everyone’s been really great about it.
